Newcastle and the Central Coast have been declared natural disaster areas.

Here is a link to some Googles news search results.

There have been reports of looting, cars left have been ransacked.

The drive home last night was OK, we left Newcastle around 1130pm, no traffic, but horrendous conditions.

Flooded roads, tree debree, washed out embankments, cranes holding up power polls from falling out of the ground, abandoned car in the middle of the road.

The only way out of Newcastle for us was via Scenic Drive, the low level roads were all blocked last night, with boats being launched at Hamilton.

I suggest people hunker down, don`t bother trying to go sight seeing, let the emergency services do their jobs in peace.

I have to go and help some friends with flooded houses and businesses.

Keep an eye out for NBN news tonight, they will have some exculsive local vision to bring us up to date.

Take care Newcastle.
